Susan realises how lonely Jim is - he is facing death with no family, and only her for company. Karl feels Susan is trying to keep him at a distance and when he discovers she has been using work as an excuse to not go on their holiday, he demands to know where he stands in Susan's affections. Meanwhile, Kate begs Jade not to tell Kyle about her indiscretion with Rhys.
